The echoes of the Winter Games still lingered, a faint whisper of frozen magic clinging to the air. Stepping off the Qing He High Speed train, I felt a strange sense of déjà vu. This station, built specifically for the 2022 Games, was a time capsule of sorts.

The Bing Dwen Dwen mascots, their oversized heads tilted in perpetual cheer, still guarded the entrance. Olympic banners, faded but defiant, draped the walls, and the station’s LED screens flickered with replays of the Games’ highlights. The very air resonated with the ghosts of triumphs past, a ghostly chorus of ice skates and roaring crowds.

An hour later, the Tai Zi Cheng station seemed to mirror the same spectral energy. Here, too, the legacy of the Winter Olympics was woven into the fabric of the place. The robot guides, their silver bodies smooth and gleaming, moved through the crowd with an almost ethereal grace. Road signs, emblazoned with the Games’ logo, pointed towards forgotten pathways, like remnants of a dream.

This wasn’t just a train station; it was a monument to fleeting glory, a reminder that even the most dazzling spectacle fades with time. It was as if the Winter Olympics, born in a flurry of excitement, had been left behind, forgotten by all but the ghosts of their own memory.
